Heyoka continues to swing at the enemies while shifting to a defensive stance, while Yatagan, unable to throw off the dark creeper who has a hold on him, heals Heyoka with a touch and gathers his own defenses.

Odanais, with his two companions keeping the enemies busy, unleashes multiple spells, blasting away at the enemies, while also healing Heyoka. A second later, an arrow from Penelope drops the worst wounded of the dark creepers. Inside the warehouse, Vox swigs a potion and feels the poison dissipate, but his legs still feel woozy.

The remaining four dark creepers attack Yatagan and Heyoka with desperate fury, the ones with the daggers stabbing them (10 pts damage each). The creature with a garotte on Yatagan tightens it, beginning to cut off his breath (11 pts), while the other garrote-wielder also throws a loop over his head, pulling back on it too (6 pts).

Initiative = Heyoka, Yatagan, Odanais, Vox, Pit, Penelope, bad guys

Damage taken and current status:

Heyoka - 29 (immobilized, regeneration 2, +2 to AC, slowed), Odanais - 14, Penelope - 11, Vox - 15, Yatagan - 44 (+2 to defenses for 1 round; grabbed by DC6)

DC1/DC3 - dead, DC2 - 24, DC4 - 28 (bloodied), DC5 - 21 (dazed), DC6 - 34 (bloodied & dazed)

Heyoka and Vox can save against being immobilized (which was an aftereffect of the poison, so it continued beyond the first save). Yatagan must make a DC 19 Athletics check as a move action to escape the grabs. Vox can make a ranged attack through the doorway at the foes outside, but they have cover.

6. He used/lost 4 in the previous encounter and has used 2 so far in this one.

Deciding that the best defense is a semen-covered axe to the face, Yatagan wheels around to strike the man garroting him all the while inspiring himself, as he is wont to do, to greater combat potency.

Sappho positions herself behind an enemy (DC6). Meanwhile, Penelope aims at the dark creeper, and fires twice at it.

Vox raises his hand crossobe, sighting carefully, and takes a shot through the doorway. "There's worse ways to fight," he comments, to no-one in particular.


OOC: Using Deft Strike. I've no idea if I've got Combat Advantage, and can't remember the cover penalty, so straight up? It's a 19 vs. Reflex, 6 points of damage +6 more from Sneak Attack, maybe. Save is 8, but using his cloak brings that up to 10. Yay?

Heyoka swings at the enemies again, this time making no contact, but he can feel the effects of the poison finally fade as full feeling returns to his legs. Yatagan has better luck, swinging around in the grasp of the two rope-wielding dark creepers and cleaving off the head of one.

Odanais moves in so as to be able to target the remaining creature with a rope attached to Yatagan, but it dodges aside. As it moves, Vox fires at the creature, but the dark creeper flips backwards in mid-air, pulling Yatagan right into the way of the shot (12 pts damage). It can't, however, avoid the shots from Penelope, one of which rips through its shoulder.

With three of them dead and the others all wounded, the dark creepers decide to quit this battle against enemies who absolutely refuse to go down. The two in front of Heyoka and Yatagan back away and then turn and flee, cloaks flaring and streaks of shadow flowing out in their wake as they scamper around the corner of the alley.

The dark creeper holding onto Yatagan looks frantically back and forth between Sappho, Odanais and Penelope on one side and Heyoka and Yatagan on the other, as it realizes the downside of having a dragonborn by the neck. It drops the rope and attempts to flee, but a timely claw from Sappho trips it up, and before it can recover, Heyoka's and Yatagan's weapons bring it down in a heap.

The battle seems to be over. Though, from the sounds of things around the corner, the fight has attracted some attention. The blood spilled inevitably has.
