Homily steps in front of Web'r, then thinks better of charging in ahead of him.

The minstrel adopts a knife-fighters stance. Which hopeful works with cheese knives. The smaller wolf launches itself at the larger, causing him to clip the woman, knocking her prone, instead of pinning her. Snarling furiously, the larger wolf grabs the smaller by the scruff and tosses him to the side. "Now dear let's settle this".

In response, the minstrel tries to stab the wolf with her cheese knife.

Web'r slashes the wolf with his cutlass... and the blade rebounds off its pelt. It's like striking a brick wall.

"You have to use silver!" shouts the woman. "Or a magic blade!".

"Oh my" exclaims the long, long-haired cat on the roof.

The larger wolf tries to take a bite out of Web'r. It finds a gap his armor, drawing blood (4 damage). Homily hesitates again, then runs inside for help.

Walker drops his cutlass and draws the Blade That Kills Spirits, making a fairly clumsy attempt to drive it through the wolfman's chest.

OOC: To-Hit: 10, including the magic bonus and the strength bonus. Can't remember the non-proficiency penalty, but doubt it matters with that roll.

In case it does, 11 damage.

Both wolves attack Web'r this time, the smaller now attempting to help the larger. Meanwhile, the minstrel gets to her feet and stabs at the larger wolf. With her cheese knife.

The larges wolf bites Web'r again (6 damage). The smaller wolf misses Web'r and the minstrel misses the big wolf. Homily and help do not arrive, yet.

"Let them finish me" says the minstrel.

"I cannot," Web'r replies, between cuts and thrusts, "Allow you to be taken by Yellow-Eyes-In-The-Firelight. Some things are not to be borne."

He frowns, and then tosses the blade pinwheeling through the air so that he can catch it by the hilt. "Pointy end first," Web'r explains. "I forget that, sometimes."

OOC: Happily, Web'r doesn't know enough to be concerned about infection. Although the thought of Web'r becoming a caveman werewolf pirate is a deeply amusing one, I must confess. Next he'll have to take up ninjaing.

Both wolves press their assault on Web'r. For the moment they've forgotten the woman, overtaken by the instinctual desire for tinned meat. This time, the wolves get naught but metal.

Then the minstrel stabs the larger wolf in the face. Pitch black blood spurts. He turns on her.

OOC: what the hell, roll init again.

Web'r catches sight of the elven Fellow, John Elan in the guild hall's door. "Someone fetch my breastplate. There's some sort of fracas involving wolves outside."

Web'r lunges again, this time managing to inflict a shallow wound. "Much better," he cries, "See, blade spirit? I will serve you well!"

The larger wolf is knocked back by the force of Web'r's blow. He's gashed deeply. Howling, he lunges again, followed by the small wolf. Homily runs out of the guild hall. John Elan continues to garb himself for battle.

Using wolf pack tactics, the wolves tear at Web'r from different sides, feasting upon caveman flesh (17 damage).

In a blink, Homily is at Web'r side. She stabs at the big wolf with her magic dagger. OOC: and by 'at' I mean "roughly in the vicinity of".
