OOC: Ed, I can loan you Yatagan. Or you can play the cat!
I will plumb my brains for a suitable second guy. Perhaps I can fix up the Dwelfling I've been thinking of (half dwarf, half elf, half halfling).

Sadly, that sounds remarkably tame in comparison to all the other PCs (well, bar Artichoke).

I sometimes remember the time I thought this might not be a comedy campaign. Ah, the follies of youth!

Will he be a Marxist too?

All D&D campaign are comedies. The only difference is whether the participants realize it.

Perhaps, but sometimes the art is to conceal the art.

Are you trying to tell me something??!!???!!??!!

I mean, aside from naming a ghost wine salesman Gallows --which in no way could I help-- my recent stint as DM hasn't been deliberately over-comedic, has it?

There's a good deal of 'more serious' lurking about in these adventures. But it's your collective decision to pursue/accentuate that stuff. Aside from some trademark violent whimsy and the --occasional-- teeth-grinding pun, I'm not going to dictate tone.

edit: okay, so I was responsible for the rocket-launching Pope hat... but still, is that any sillier than the Girdle of Transgendering from the 1st Edition DMG??

No worries. I sent you an email to clarify, in order not to derail this thread.

I'm thinking of playing a compatriot of Yatagan's--Artur Rambo. He's a melancholy poet on a revenge fantasy.

That's awesome... a decadent, absinthe-addled survivalist. Bravo!

(I'm still laughing, fortunately, almost no one's in my office today)
