Odanais burns one veteran pirate and blasts the two others to the Hereafter like a divine wind. As he passes the heart of the cloud he notices a Shadar-Kai woman with shadows wafting off her skin, as if she were wearing a visible perfume made of evil. She's aiming in the general direction of the Porcophant. As her zooms away from her form blends into the shadow.

As Odanais re-corporates he sees that he's gotten the pirate's attention. They dance a jaunty sea-jig towards him, their short blades weaving a confusing pattern in the air. They're both injured, scored by shallow cuts. Unfortunately that don't seem to impair them much.

(new map forthcoming).

OOC: and now some rolling...

Lizzie finds himself quickly surrounded as the veteran pirates have-to around him (burning their Action Points to double shift). The avenger of the proletariat responds by dodging their clumsy, over-eager blows.

Odanais isn't so lucky. His foes aren't quite so eager, nor clumsy, and their short swords cut him twice (33 damage). Even less fortunately, the pirate directly in front of him deftly steps around Odanais as he pulls his blade out of the sorcerer's belly. Now flanked, the pirate whistles to his partner and they attack again (burning their Action Points). Odanais, in turn, commands his armor to release it's magic. The sorcerer turns translucent as a ghost-prostitute and one pirate's blade passes straight through him and into the chest of flanking pirate.

The veteran grunts in pain as Sancerre says "Clever man!" as he steps through the veil of shadow. "Since you are clever, I'll afford you chance to wise up and surrender. Beware... Sancerre!" The ghost-vigilantee lunges... slamming the flat of his scimitar into the sides of Odanais's pretty head.

"Bravo, you still stand!" says Sancerre approvingly. The newly gut-stabbed pirate next to him does not look amused.

The Porcophant is interrupted from his admiration of his bloody handiwork by a vaguely boomerang-shaped clot of darkness that flies out of the cloud and strikes him in his eyes. It hurts, and everything beyond six paces in lost in a gray-black haze (10 damage, no line of sight past 2 squares, save ends).

Meanwhile... two Unseemlies drop the lackey they were dueling (at K8). They step aside to let Lien and Artichoke at a grizzled pirate. Count Rags and Lord Lack-A-Day step into the fray, flanking a veteran pirate. Several Unseemlies flee the shadowy cloud, their skin looking bleached-bone white in the moon-and-starlight.

And from the clear heavens above, a bolt of lightening strikes a surprised-looking veteran pirate (P2). Sparks dance across his torso as he shouts in pain.

Damage totals:

P1: 33
P2: 32
P3: 74
P4: 39
SK: 28 (she's the Shadar-Kai in the cloud)
Sancerre: 0

Pætros responds to this assault with a stream of curses, but never deviates from his course. As he strides forward he raises his staff again...and the light streaming from his body suddenly redoubles in intensity, tearing the shroud of darkness that clings to his eyes into wispy shreds.

"Woman! Magic is being weak! Will now suffer for affrontery!"

OOC: Move to O11; angel at P11 and Pig at P10

And invoke Brilliant Cloak: +2 to AC and Reflex for Pætros and adjacent allies. Made the save vs. the blindness effect, and didn't need to use the Circlet of Second Chances...so ignore that second d20 roll.

Hit Points: 50/60
Current Defenses: AC 27, Fort 23, Ref 222, Will 22. (Includes -2 to-hit penalty from Astral Splendor).

OOC: Nope -- the pirate shifted 2 squares. It's part of his at-will when he hits. Also, if shil doesn't post soon Lady Snogbottom will revive Odanais with her magical promise of vulgarity.

Hehe... But first, I would like to use my two magic item-provided interrupts to keep Odanais on his feet.

Mallus wrote:
Odanais's luck turns... only one hits (24 damage)...

Odanais uses the daily interrupt power of his Skald's armor to cause the attack to instead pass by him harmlessly and send that damage to the other pirate instead.

Mallus wrote:
The ghost-vigilantee thumps Onanais twice in the head with the flat of his scimitar

When Sancere attacks, Odanais uses the daily interrupt power of his Cape of the Mountback to immediately teleport safely away, avoiding that damage as well. [New square O-11]

OOC: Strike that... you can only take 1 immediate action per round. So which will it be?

Pardon my leaving the last battle summary in mid-retcon...

Rats... ok, since I'm assuming Odanais was unaware of how close Sancere was to him, he probably would have just gone with the first interrupt (passing one pirate's attack onto the other), leaving himself wide open to Sancere's attack, which will nonetheless leave him (I assume) still (barely) standing.

OOC: OK. So Odanais takes 65 points of damage and is still on his feet. I'll reflect this in the previous summary post.

On the plus side, he still has his cloak's interrupt, he's got some fightin' bums around him, and there's now lightning striking your enemies...

BTW, Sancerre seems to be able to see pretty well in the shadow cloud. Much better than the human pirates.

OOC: since we haven't heard from shil yet...

Lady Snogbottom pledges a foreign kind of love to the talented Mr. Dare, if only their side can prevail against the sure-and-savage thrusts that so sorely threaten to top them. Odanais feels health surge through him from an unexpected quarter (Odanais can spend a Healing Surge + 3HP, plus he can Slide 1 square).

Lady Bumtussle sings a surprisingly sweet lullaby in the direction of Count Rags, hoping to shore up his resolve as he stands mere hand-spans from a pirate swordsman and Sancerre. She then lofts a hand crossbow you hadn't noticed before, taking aim on the half-elf, half-ghost.

Again, the clear night sky crackles with thunder.

With two shifts (that one and one of my own), can I shift through an ally's square? (the ally being one of the Unseemly.)

Also, can I cast majestic word on myself in the same round that someone else has cast it?

Lizzy declares the pirate P2 a complete motherfucking enemy of the godsdamned people. He then uses inexorable pursuit, shifting 3 squares to L9 and attacking P2.

30 to hit vs. AC and 18 damage if successful.
