I say it again: Ye are all second level.

And, looted from the corpses of the Dragon's Fang:

One bottle of Alchemist's Fire
One Cloak of Resistance +1 -- worn by the mage.
A small booklet containing the ritual of Animal Messenger, and the components for two castings of the same -- carried by the mage.
An ivory box, its lid pierced with many holes, containing a skink -- carried by the mage.
+1 Vicious Longsword -- wielded by the armored kobold; it's got the spikes and jagged edges typical of a Tiefling design.
350 GP in coins, weaponry, and tacky jewelry.

I suggest giving the Cloak to Yatagan, who seems to end up having the most spells (and other effects) cast at him, and the longsword to Heyoka, who's our best damage-dealer in melee. Artichoke uses a longsword too, but since he has Heyoka do the hitting half the time, giving it to the latter seems a better idea. Any disagreements or other suggestons?

As for the money, adding it to our 250 gp from last time, we have 600 gp now. I figure we should just hold on to it for now, unless you guys would prefer to divvy it up.

Sounds fine to me.

Looks like we have the remaining stuff from this session and the previous one to divvy up:

A coin of unidentifiable black metal, depicting a cat's head on one side and an arcane sigil of some sort on the other. This item will give the possessor a +1 on one attack roll or skill check, once/day -- using this power does not count against the number of magic item abilities that can be used in a day.

One bottle of Alchemist's Fire

A small booklet containing the ritual of Animal Messenger, and the components for two castings of the same -- carried by the mage.

An ivory box, its lid pierced with many holes, containing a skink -- carried by the mage.

I believe there was also a magic wand +1 which Asarlai took. Right?

The ritual and associated components should go to Odanais, I think. I'd like the coin for Artichoke, since his attacks (esp. his daily) really help the entire group, so I want to make sure that when he does swing at something, he hits.

John, do we have any idea what the box with the skink is for?

Most likely a handy subject for that Animal Messenger ritual.

While going through things, Artichoke does notice one other oddity.... A surprising amount of the coins recovered from the kobolds look to his expert eye to be newly minted -- the details are crisp, the milling unshaved, dated (of course) with this year.

It's hardly inexplicible, but it is a little unusual.

Interesting. BTW, who does the minting in the Port?

Every single coin minted in the Port, from copper to platinum, has the Governor's face on one side. So you can likely guess.

Foreign coins see plenty of ciculation, though, and are generally accepted at pretty even rate of exchange.

Their god may be eroded, but their coins apparently are not.

The unusually new coins are the ones on the kobolds, actually, i.e. the mercenaries who attacked the house we were defending.

John, since the Governor is the one doing the minting, would the Magistrates be likely to have more access to newly minted coinage than most, or does the money not flow down that way?

Marginally more than most, perhaps. But there doesn't seem to be any organized pattern of dispersion beyond the Governor's wholly inexplicable whims.

So while the coins are new, they could have come from anywhere?

Does the dragon that the kobolds claim as their patron grant audiences? I think Yatagan should pay him a visit.
