#1 -- A natural 20 is a critical hit. Roll your damage dice and multiply the result by 2. Then add any bonuses for strength, magic, and weapon specialization.

#2 -- A natural 1 is a fumble. Roll another d20 and hope for a high number. A roll between 1-5 is usually something bad.
